PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN 6) – Four men have been indicted with multiple felonies as part of an on-going white supremacy gang and shooting investigation, including one man who already is accused of killing an inmate in Marion County’s jail.

Joseph Gerald Schwab, Michael Philip Donald O’Malley, Michael Newcomb and David Ray Bartol are each charged with two counts of attempted aggravated murder, two counts first-degree assault, four counts of first-degree kidnapping, two counts of first-degree robbery with a firearm, one count of second-degree robbery with a firearm, and two counts of unlawful use of a weapon with a firearm.

Bartol, who is in custody at the Oregon State Penitentiary (OSP), has a pending aggravated murder case in Marion County because he is accused of killing another inmate inside the jail.

Schwab, who was arraigned Monday, is accused of two counts of attempted murder, one count of first-degree assault, four counts of first-degree kidnapping, one count of first-degree robbery, one count of second-degree robbery and two counts of unlawful use of a weapon.

According to court records, the incident occurred Feb. 12, 2013. Police said the incident occurred near Southeast 84 and Powell.

The Marion County Sheriff’s Office said in 2013 that Bartol used homemade weapon and stabbed Gavin Lee Siscel. The 33-year-old man died six days later at Oregon Health & Science University. Court records show Bartol entered a not guilty plea Dec. 4, 2014. If convicted of aggravated murder, a jury could sentence Bartol to death.

Schwab, who is currently serving a prison sentence at Oregon’s Coffee Creek Correctional Institution, has a lengthy criminal history. Records show he was part of the group accused of kidnapping a Southwest Portland and holding him at a Gresham apartment. The man had to be rescued by the East County SWAT team in Feb. 2014. He entered a plea of not guilty Monday.

Prior to this latest indictment, O’Malley, who is being held at the Multnomah County Inverness Jail, does not have any major criminal record in Multnomah County. In Nov. 2014, he entered a plea of guilty after police found him possession of a restricted weapon. He entered a plea of not guilty Thursday.

Newcomb, who is in custody at the Multnomah County Detention Center, has a criminal record that dates back to 2005 in Multnomah County. Records show must of the accusations have been for drug and traffic related offenses. He appeared in court Friday morning and entered a plea of not guilty.

Bartol has not been arraigned on the new grand jury indictment. It remains unknown when he will be transported back to Multnomah County.

Police said Friday the case remains under investigation, but declined to release specifics.
