PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Cult-favorite burger chain In-N-Out is coming to Keizer, but the opening date and location are still unclear.

Google searches led people to believe it’d be opening this month, but whenever it’s built — the people will come.

“Honestly, I’m so stoked. I’ve been missing it for a while because I’m from California,” said Audrey Torres, an In-N-Out fan.

Die-hard fans are salivating waiting for the latest location to open at Keizer Station.

​​”I was really excited because I’m originally from the east coast, and we don’t have In-N-Out Burger over there,” said Johnny Mendez, another fan.

Keizer Mayor Cathy Clark said she realizes this In-N-Out Burger will bring a lot of people to town.

“[I thought] everything from oh my gosh — I can’t believe they chose us to — oh my gosh there’s going to be a lot of traffic,” said Clark.

​​The mayor said she anticipates it causing some congestion, so the city will have to work with them as they navigate the influx of customers. ​

Construction started in June and a lot of progress has already been made — but a simple Google search could leave you wondering; it shows the fast-food restaurant is set to open this month.

KOIN 6 reached out to In-N-Out Burger officials about the opening date.

“Once we begin construction on a new location it usually takes us 6 months to build a restaurant and open for business,” the spokesperson said. “Because it is still early in the process, it would be premature to comment on a timeline or anything like a potential opening date.”

In-N-Out told the City of Keizer that they’re shooting for opening sometime in November, which is closer to the 6-month building timeline that their spokesperson suggested. ​​

“We’ve been working hard with In-N-Out Burger, a very professional company, and we were able to get a design that works for them and we hope it works for our whole community,” Clark said. 

Exactly when they’ll open their doors is still up in the air — but it’s clear that In-N-Out lovers will have to wait several more months before they can order their burger animal-style.
