SEATTLE (KOIN 6) — The NFL opted to fine Marshawn Lynch $20,000 for an obscene gesture following his late-game touchdown Sunday, according to an ESPN report, and is mulling over a much costlier penalty for what he did — or didn’t do — after.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter, citing an NFL official, reported Thursday morning that Lynch, whose relationship with the media is probably worse than any player’s in the league, again refused to speak to reporters after the team’s NFC Championship win.PHOTOS: Seattle’s historic comeback

Lynch has twice been fined $50,000 over the past two seasons for snubbing reporters, and with Super Bowl media day coming up, Commissioner Roger Goodell’s office is already in conversation with the Seahawks over how to handle the team’s silent superstar, according to the report.

The fines levied against Lynch will continue to rise for every missed media engagement, Schefter reported.
