PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN 6) – A grand jury handed up an indictment this week accusing a 24-year-old man of second-degree assault after police say he bit off someone’s earlobe.
Zachary Wayne Joiner remains in the Multnomah County Detention Center. His bail on the indictment has been set at $250,000.
He was arrested by Portland Police on Aug. 23rd after a dispute with a longtime friend, according to court records. Police and prosecutors say that more than half of the victim’s lower ear off.
Joiner admitted to the assault, according to court records.
He is scheduled to be in court Tuesday morning to be arraigned on the grand jury’s indictment.
