PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A Cornelius man was arrested after deputies said he was firing a handgun into the air at a New Year’s celebration. 

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office said Juan Humberto Garfias-Campos, 46, was fired several rounds outside during a party on South Cherry Drive in Cornelius. Bullets hit a neighbor’s house and even landed inside near a child’s slide in the living room.

The neighbors called authorities after hearing the barrage of gunshots 

No one was hurt but Garfias-Campos was arrested on charges of unlawful use of a weapon, recklessly endangering another person and 2nd-degree criminal mischief.
