PRIVINEVILLE, Ore. (KOIN 6) – A 34-year-old man is accused of using a blow torch to burn a woman, according to court documents.
Josef Grant Taylor remains in the Crook County Jail. His bail has been set at $75,000.
He was arrested and charged with one count each of second-degree assault, tampering with a witness, menacing and 6 counts of being a felon in possession of a firearm.
The alleged incident happened on Aug. 20, according to court records.
Taylor is accused of causing physical to a woman by using a blow torch as a dangerous weapon. The woman was burned, records show. The extent of her injuries is not known. Prosecutors accuse Taylor of “unlawfully and knowingly” attempting to induce the woman to offer false testimony or withhold testimony.
Records show that Taylor used the blow torch to menace the woman by placing her in fear of imminent serious physical injury by burning her.
When Taylor was arrested, officials recovered multiple firearms.
Taylor is scheduled to be back in court Sep. 21.
