KALAMAZOO COUNTY, Mich. (KRON) — A man convicted of murdering his wife ultimately led police to her body in exchange for access to an Xbox while in prison. 

According to The Detroit Free Press, Douglas Stewart local authorities to a wooded area in Wakeshma Township in Kalamazoo County, Michigan on Monday where officials discovered the remains of who is believed to be his estranged wife, Venus Stewart. 

Stewart was convicted of killing Venus Stewart in 2011 but her remains were not found until this week. 

The remains were found near the scene of the murder at Venus’ parents’ home.

The publication said the Xbox he received will be for his unit at the Saginaw Correctional Facility. 

Officials say there will be no internet connection.
