PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A 29-year-old man faces a variety of charges after a multiple car crash on SE 82nd Avenue Saturday night.

Witnesses told KOIN 6 News one car was speeding, possibly being pursued by police. That car crashed, causing a chain reaction that involved 4-6 cars, according to witnesses.

Kevin Allen Clute was taken into custody after the crash. He faces 9 charges: attempting to elude a police officer, unauthorized use of a vehicle, assault, reckless driving, reckless endangering, possessing a stolen vehicle, identity theft, violating a restraining order and and unrelated warrant.

SE 82nd Avenue was closed from Flavel to Henderson for hours.

Clute is being held at the Clackamas County Jail on $60,000 bail.
