PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A man wanted for triple murder out of Louisiana was arrested in Portland on Sunday.
Deaundrey Cole told Portland Police his name was Demetrius Jenkins when they arrested him after driving recklessly next to acquaintances who called 911 in SE Portland.
He and the acquaintances were driving to the same bar in separate cars when they say he started arguing with them on the phone and side-swiped the driver’s door area.
The acquaintances told police they last saw him driving on SE 50th and Powell Blvd. Officers eventually caught up with him and learned from the acquaintances that he had a murder warrant out from Louisiana.
Cole gave officers a fake driver’s license and birth certificate in the name of Demetrius Jenkins and insisted that was his name. Officers ran his fingerprints and confirmed he was actually Deaundrey Cole.
Cole is a suspect in a drive-by shooting that left three people dead on May 14 in Monroe, according to KTVE.
KOIN 6 will have more information soon.
