PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A woman previously facing a manslaughter charge for the shooting death of a man at a Gresham apartment in mid-February now faces a murder charge after a grand jury indictment.

Schwanna Waters was arrested February 14 after the shooting took the life of John Romanger at the Evergreen Meadows Apartments. Romanger, of Cathlamet, Washington, was 25.

Waters, 23, pleaded not guilty to the murder charge on Tuesday. Prosecutors allege she killed Romanger during a robbery.
