PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Authorities released new information in their ongoing investigation into the disappearance of a University of Portland freshman who was last seen more than a week ago.
The last known spot Owen Klinger was seen was near the intersection of North Portsmouth and Lombard, Portland police said Tuesday.
Investigators said they gathered that information after working with TriMet and finding surveillance video from businesses and homes in the area.
Klinger, 18, hasn’t been seen since 7:30 p.m. Oct. 6 on the UP north campus. The 6-foot-1, 165-pound student was wearing a light-blue hooded sweatshirt, jeans and had a drawstring backpack.
Search organizers told KOIN 6 News video from a TriMet bus stop at Willamette Boulevard and Portsmouth Avenue taken around 8:30 p.m. reveal Klinger did not get on the bus. Searchers with dogs looked in that area twice.
Earlier that day he stopped at a campus ATM and got $150. He told his roommates he was headed to a lacrosse club team meeting.
“But it sounds like he was a little evasive with his roommates about what his plans were,” his parents told KOIN 6 News at the time.
Over the past week, multiple searches involving hundreds of people have scoured the area for any sign of the teen.
Another search is set to begin at 4 p.m. on Oct. 16. One group will meet at the Public Safety Office in Haggerty Hall, the other at the Portland Tennis Center outdoor courts.
Anyone with information is asked to call 911.
