PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — For the first time this winter, Multnomah County will open a severe weather shelter because of the sustained below-freezing temperatures.

Denis Therault, the communications coordinator for Multnomah County, said no one who needs help will be turned away. A shelter at Imago Dei, 1400 SE Ankeny Street, will be open from 8:30 p.m. to 7 a.m. Monday. Other emergency weather shelters will open as needed.
