PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Ten months after an 18-year-old was shot to death at what was described as a “viral” Airbnb party in Rock Creek, one young man was identified as a suspect in the murder.
Torrey Caprice Brumfield, who is currently in an Oregon jail on unrelated charges, is accused of killing Fermin Alonso-Alonso at the party on September 30, 2018. The 18-year-old graduated from Glencoe High School a few months before he was shot to death.
Gunfire rang out around 12:45 a.m. at the rental home in the 17700 block of NW Connett Meadow Court. Deputies were called after the shooting followed “an altercation at a large party.” Authorities told KOIN 6 News “dozens,” possibly “hundreds,” of people were at the party.
At that time, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office said the location of the party was posted on social media and it quickly went viral.
Investigators said many people fled before authorities arrived, including the shooter.
Brumfield, 20, is currently behind bars for stealing a car and not showing up to court. He is now facing charges in Washington County for murder, unlawful use of a weapon and being a felon in possession of a firearm.
