PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A 2-alarm blaze that destroyed a dental equipment manufacturing building in Newberg is being investigated as a possible arson, fire officials told KOIN 6 News.
Just before 2 a.m. Sunday a 911 call was made by a man near the DCI International Building requesting medical attention. When first responders arrived the man was not there and the building was ablaze. Investigators believe the incidents are related.
When fire crews from TVFR arrived at 305 N. Springbrook Road the one-floor building was “fully engulfed.” The fire was quickly upgraded to a second alarm and fire crews worked to keep the fire from spreading to nearby facilities.
In an update on Twitter, TVF&R shared a video of the burning structure, nearly every inch of it ignited. TVF&R said crews from McMinnville, Yamhill, Dayton and Dundee Fire Departments had joined the extinguishing efforts.
It took fire crews about 2 hours to get the blaze under control. The building was destroyed and officials said the building is “a total loss.”

DCI International is, according to their LinkedIn page, “an industry leader in manufacturing dental equipment, components & replacement parts.” It’s been a family-owned and operated business for more than 30 years.
No injuries were reported.
