PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Gov. Kate Brown announced cash prize drawings for Oregonians who have gotten their COVID-19 vaccination.
There will be a $1 million lottery drawing for all Oregonians 18 and older who have gotten at least one dose before June 27.
There will be five $100,000 Oregon College Saving Plan Scholarship winners for youth ages 12-17, and each of Oregon’s 36 counties will have a $10,000 winner as well.
The drawing will take place on June 28 with winners announced the following week. The drawing pulls names from the state vaccine database.
“Getting vaccinated not only protects you from COVID-19, it helps protect your loved ones….and in Oregon, it gives you a chance to win $1 million,” Brown said.
Oregon Health Authority Director Pat Allen said the state is on track to vaccinate 70% of the population by June 27. The state plans to loosen statewide restrictions at that point.
