PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — The Josephine County Sheriff’s Office is looking for recruits and deputies are taking full advantage of social media to find them.

In a video posted Thursday on the sheriff office’s Facebook and YouTube pages, Sheriff Dave Daniel starts by talking about the office’s struggles in 2012 due to lack of funding. He said the department was reduced to a skeleton crew of deputies.

But Daniel said the deputies who remained are stronger than ever and are looking to add to their force.

“My message to you is we will not stop until we have a 24-hour patrol service, a full detectives division, a K-9 division and a full jail,” said Daniel. “I’m here to tell you we are back with passion and determination.”

The video segues into cinematic scenes of the deputies carrying out various duties to the sound of Shinedown’s “State of My Head.”
