PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — 24 hours after a strong storm knocked out power around the metro area, most of the service in the region has been restored.

At the height of Monday’s outages, almost 25,000 PGE, Pacific Power, and Clark Public Utilities customers were without service in Oregon and Southwest Washington.

Crews worked constantly Monday afternoon through Tuesday morning to solve most of the problems. Officials blamed the outages on high winds and trees falling on power lines.

As of 6 a.m. Tuesday, a little more than 200 customers were still in the dark.
