CORVALLIS, Ore. (KOIN 6) — The former OSU student charged with public indecency for filming a pornographic video in a school library appeared in court Thursday.
Kendra Sunderland, 19, told KOIN 6 News, the video was strictly business. She said she did not anticipate the video would be uploaded to the web.
“I think it’s normal for a college campus,” Sunderland said. “College kids go crazy, they party, they do fun things and experiment. I think it’s not really big news.”
Sunderland said she hopes to make the most of her current situation.
“I’m not just trying to hide in my room and cry about it,” Sunderland said. “I have to roll with it and make the best out of it.”
Sunderland, who dropped out of OSU, said she’s exploring related activities — she said she’s posed for Playboy and even has her own website.
“I basically just want to dip my feet into anything, into every possible thing I can,” Sunderland said. “There are some things I don’t want to do for sure, and those are definitely hard nosed off the table, but there’s a lot of other things I’m open to.”
After pleading not guilty Thursday, Sunderland was seen signing an autograph for a young man outside the court.
Her attorney, Mike Flynn, said he plans on fighting the charges. He said he may make use of Oregon’s liberal interpretation of freedom of expression as part of her defense.
Sunderland is due back in court April 28.
