PENDLETON, Ore. (AP) — Pacific Power has agreed to purchase renewable energy from four new solar installations in Oregon.
The East Oregonian reports the move will provide 38.5 megawatts for Pacific Power’s grid. The installations include the Bear Creek Solar Center in Bend; Bly Solar Center in Klamath County; and Adams Solar Center and Elbe Solar Center, both in Madras.
All are scheduled to be completed before the end of the year
Pacific Power serves 740,000 customers in Oregon, Washington and California.
The utility has until 2040 to start generating half its electricity from renewable sources under the Oregon Renewable Portfolio Standard.
