PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — One man was shot Thursday night on board a MAX Green Line train near the SE Main Street MAX station, officials from the Portland Police Bureau and TriMet told KOIN 6 News.

The victim was taken to a local hospital by ambulance. There are no current impacts to MAX Green Line service, TriMet officials said.

Just before 7 p.m. on Thursday, East Precinct and Transit Police officers were dispatched to a report of a fight on a MAX train at at 1119 Southeast 96th Avenue.

Upon arriving on scene, officers were notified that a gun had been fired. Once police arrived, they identified a male victim who suffered a gunshot wound.

After the crime scene was secured, paramedics arrived to treat the injured victim. He was taken to a local hospital and his injuries appear to be non-life threatening, according to Portland Police.

The suspect left the scene and was not immediately located.
