PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Portland is the 6th best place to live in the country, according to a list compiled by U.S. News & World Report.
Portland scored 7.3 overall, with a 10 for desirability, 6.5 for value, 7.3 for job market, 6.5 for quality of life and 7.4 for net migration.
U.S. News & World Report said, “Portland is a well-rounded region with more than just the offbeat shops and events.”
The report also highlighted the wilderness that can be found within an hour or 2 of the city including 2 mountain ranges and the Pacific Ocean.
The list included the top 125 cities in the country. Austin, Texas topped the list followed by Colorado Springs, Denver, Des Moines and Fayetteville, Arkansas.
To make the top of the list, a place had to have good value, be a desirable place to live, have a strong job market and a high quality of life.
