PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — The man accused of hitting three women with his car on the Portland State University Campus last month appeared in court on Tuesday and pleaded not guilty.
61-year-old Greg Porter faces 9 charges, including 3 of attempted aggravated murder for the May 25 incident.
In court Tuesday, his lawyer demanded a jury trial. Porter made his first court appearance last week and remains behind bars at the Multnomah County Jail on $772,500 bail.
Documents released last week reveal police arrived at the scene very quickly and spoke with a number of witnesses who all basically said the same thing: The blue Mazda Tribute went up the sidewalk ramp and onto the sidewalk in a “controlled sort of way.” The car was going “so fast” on the sidewalk, hit the 3 women and kept going.
Porter was later spotted in his Mazda in NE Portland and was taken into custody without incident.
