PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Oregon is the 18th most expensive state to rent in, according to the National Low Income Housing Coalition.

A new report says that a worker who earns minimum wage in Oregon, $9.25, would need to work 68 hours each week in order to afford a ‘modest 1-bedroom apartment at Fair Market Rent.’

The report states that for a person making minimum wage, rent affordable would be $481.

According to the report, in order to afford a one-bedroom apartment in Multnomah County, a person would need to earn $40,840 per year.
