PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN 6) – Fire investigators have arrested a 24-year-old woman who they claim had involvement in a weekend fire that badly burned a man.
Kayla Elizabeth Elmer is to be arraigned on Wednesday afternoon at the Multnomah County Justice Center. She remains in jail and has been charged with 6 counts of first-degree arson.
According to investigators, Elmer was arrested on Tuesday around 4 p.m. after she turned herself into the Portland Police Detective Division.
Police have already arrested Joshua Bigsby in connection to the fire. According to court documents, he is seen on surveillance video shortly before the fire was set carrying a gasoline can. One person was burned and remains in the hospital. A second person suffered burns to the forearm, but refused medical treatment.
Officials said the investigation is on-going and could not immediately release Elmer’s alleged role in the fire.
