TILLAMOOK, Ore. (KOIN) — A 22-year-old sex offender who escaped from the Tillamook Youth Facility over the weekend was arrested in Provo, Utah on Wednesday, police said.

Joshua Garvin has been at the facility since he was sentenced before he turned 18, said Ann Snyder with the Oregon Youth Authority.

Sometime after noon, Garvin escaped. He is 5-feet-9, 180 pounds, with short blond hair. He was wearing a Duck Dynasty sweatshirt, blue jeans and black tennis shoes, authorities said.

A youthful offender can remain in the Oregon Youth Authority system until their 25th birthday.

The public is urged not to approach him as he may pose a danger to himself or others.

The Oregon State Police is leading the investigation.
