There will be extra security at Sheridan High School Tuesday after school officials said a threat was made to the school.
Superintendent Steve Sugg shared a message on the Sheridan School District Facebook page saying they are taking the written threat seriously and are investigating.
The Yamhill County Sheriff’s Office confirmed to KOIN 6 News that it is working with the school and will be providing extra presence Tuesday. A spokesperson for the sheriff’s office said the district is being proactive and taking proper measures.
The full statement from the superintendent said:
We are aware of a written threat to Sheridan High School tomorrow 11-28-17. We are taking this threat seriously and are proactively investigating. We believe campus will be safe tomorrow. We have contacted the Yamhill County Sheriff’s office and will have extra security on hand at Sheridan High School tomorrow as a precaution. As always, we want you to know student and staff safety are our highest priority.”
Officials could not provide more information about the nature of the threat.
