PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN 6) — A Portland man faces gun and drug charges after he allegedly threatened two people in a Southeast Portland home Friday afternoon.

James Edwards Stebbins briefly held police at bay when they arrived at the home, 9126 SE Insley, around 3:30 p.m. Jan. 23. They were called to the home by the victims – a man and woman — after they were threatened.

With police surrounding the home, Stebbins, 52, surrendered without incident around 5 p.m.

A search warrant found three ounces of meth, some heroin, a stolen handgun, stolen property and more than $4,000 in cash.

Stebbins is charged with being a felon in possession of a firearm, two counts of unlawful use of a weapon, first-degree aggravated theft and two counts of menacing.
