PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A construction worker was attacked with a nail gun at a Happy Valley house under construction on SE Tranquil Street Friday morning.

The Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office said the man was flown to the hospital by LifeFlight after being shot multiple times with nails. The victim was later identified as 24-year-old Andres C. Marcelo.

Marcelo is in stable condition and remains in the hospital as of Tuesday.

Police said the suspect and victim know each other and there is no threat to the public. The Marcelo’s brother-in-law told KOIN 6 News the men work together and everything was normal before the attack. They had breakfast at McDonald’s and went to work but then the suspect “snapped” and started shooting the victim in the back of the head.

The suspect ran away toward SE 172nd Ave., however, he was found by deputies Saturday morning. Officials said Jesus Ascencio Molina was arrested for the attempted murder of one of his coworkers. He’s being held on a $250,000 bail.
