PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — The Washington County Sheriff’s Office said the suspect accused of killing two people Wednesday night died from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Shortly after 8 p.m., deputies were called to a home near Southwest Scholls Ferry Road and Southwest Humphrey Boulevard.

The suspect was taken to a local hospital where officials said they died.

It’s unclear what led up to the incident, but WCSO said the investigation is ongoing.

Editor’s note: An original version of this story identified the location of the crime scene as a Hillsboro address. Authorities clarified Thursday morning that the home is in unincorporated Washington County.
