PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — The witches of Oz have landed in Portland once again.
The wildly popular Broadway musical “Wicked” is flying into the Keller Auditorium July 10-28. The musical tells a different perspective of the story we all remember from “The Wizard of Oz.”
Two witches — one bubbly blond and one green-skinned — meet at school and become unlikely friends. It’s a closer look at the so-called Wicked Witch of the West and Glinda the Good Witch before Dorothy and Toto land there.
“Wicked” is full of colorful costumes, energetic musical numbers and wild special effects.
The show has been a hit for more than 15 years on Broadway and across the world. It has been performed in more than 100 cities and 16 countries.
There will be 24 performances in Portland including several matinees, ASL interpreted and audio description performances. It’s recommended for ages 5 and up.
There are still plenty of tickets available starting at $49.00. The show is 2 hours and 45 minutes with one intermission.
