BEAVERTON, Ore. (KOIN) — Portland Winterhawks assistant coach Keith McKittrick was placed on paid administrative leave following his arrest last month for allegedly assaulting a woman.
McKittrick, 32, was arrested on August 16 on charges of assault, strangulation and harassment, court documents revealed.
Since his arrest, McKittrick has reportedly left the Beaverton area. He is expected to be back in time for his Sept. 14 court appearance, team officials told KOIN 6 News.
It has yet to be determined whether McKittrick will return to his position with the Winterhawks.
“The organization is taking the situation very seriously, but we cannot comment further until the legal process takes its course,” a Winterhawks spokesperson said.
KOIN 6 News will have more information as it becomes available.
