PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN 6) – A 52-year-old woman is being held on a 48-count indictment with bail set at $240,000 on allegations of theft and health care fraud.
Sheila Massey, who also goes by the name Sheila Campbell, was arraigned on Monday.
According to court records, Massey’s criminal activity spanned between November 2012 and January 2015. She is charged with 27 counts of first-degree theft by deception and 21 counts of making a false claim for health care payment.
Specific details of the allegations have not been released by the Oregon Department of Justice – the agency prosecuting Massey. The Oregon Department of Justice declined to comment on investigation and the indictment
At minimum, according to court records, Massey “unlawfully” collected a total of $27,000 from Department of Human Services, the Social Security Administration and a private company. The state’s probe into Massey looked into allegations of home care worker fraud, social security fraud and brokerage worker fraud.
Massey was arraigned on the secret grand jury indictment on Monday morning. A not guilty plea was entered on her behalf. A trial date will be scheduled in November.
