PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — We are starting to learn who the contenders are as the prep football season completed Week 3.

The KOIN 6 Blitz Game of the Week featured an up-and-coming program in Mountainside going on the road to take on perennial power Lake Oswego.

It was a game between a pair of undefeateds, so something had to give — but in the end, it was a Mountainside 24-7 win over LO, meaning Mountainside improves now 3-0.

Meanwhile, it was a wild road game for Sherwood, which ultimately came out on top against Lakeridge with a 47-35 victory.

For the defending 6A champions, Central Catholic dominated their game against Sandy, 41-6.

Finally, Liberty was looking to stay undefeated, but the Sunset Apollos handed the team its first loss of the season in a close 36-35 matchup.
