PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN)— ***12:10PM UPDATE*** Thunderstorms rolled through the coast and valley early this morning before winds started ramping up. Portland set a new wind record for the month of August after gusting to 43 MPH in the 11 AM hour-the strongest wind ever recorded for the month.
Astoria airport reported a wind gust of 62 mph today and power has been in and out in areas along the coast and parts of the valley. Winds will gradually come down as we head into the lunch hour with advisories and warnings coming to an end.
Sunday will bring cloudy skies with on and off showers at times to add to the rain totals.
Monday brings a break from the rain before more showers arrive Tuesday. It’s going to feel like fall for a while.
