PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — It was a full house at Columbia Christian Church, where loved ones gathered to remember Benjamin Lyons, who was murdered last month at work.

Lyons, 83, was working as a security guard at at Vancouver truck company when on Feb. 26, an unknown suspect brutally attacked him with sharp and blunt force injuries.

Loved ones described Lyons as outgoing and giving — someone who would always make sure people were taken care of.

“He was wonderful and he was special, as you can tell, and he did not deserve to die the way he did,” family friend Sue Pitts said.

Vancouver police don’t have any suspect information at this time, but there is a reward being offered for any information that leads to an arrest.

“I think that’s the worst part, no one has any answers,” family friend Amy Williams said. “People that love Terry [his son] deserve those answers.”
